Acquisition of a handheld spectroradiometer
The Remote Sensing lab of FORTH (co-PI of the urbisphere project) has been equipped with a new RS-3500 handheld spectroradiometer from Spectral Evolution. RS-3500 covers the spectrum from 350 nm to 2500 nm at unprecedented detail, accuracy, and quality allowing the collection of spectral signature of representative materials in the urban areas. The collected data will end up into an urban spectral library that will be used in combination with relevant hyperspectral imagery from available satellites and the forthcoming Unoccupied Aerial System (UAS) that will carry a hyperspectral camera. These datasets will lead to detailed material maps of urban areas for further use in complex analysis for the needs of the project.
