As part of the ERC-funded smart urban observation system, 40 new and small weather stations were installed on street lights across the city of Freiburg. Today, the first built-up phase was completed and recording has begun. The stations help our development and testing of models for thermal comfort and extreme precipitation forecasting at street level in cities. They also inform the public through EU open data.
